Happy 2015

Hello and thank you for checking back with me! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season! I was so distracted with good stuff that I neglected my blog...feel horrible but.....this new year was upon us..I want to embrace it with an open heart, positive attitude and an adventurous spirit!  I have been working on opening my Etsy shop..a project I started almost 4 years ago.   I didn't have my Fallbrook Womens class in December, so I tried to use that time to be productive with my shop....well the baking, decorating, and wonderful family time I gave into and was blessed with a joyous Chrsitmas....if my iPad would allow me to post the photos I took on New Years Eve, you could understand. It was a winter wonderland at my house...we got snow!!! Maybe it's normal where you live but not here! We got 7 inches of powder! I truly had one of the best ending and beginning of a year ever! In addition to working on my shop, I got orders for Lisa Lisa Treats baking departments! I sold my biscotti and toffee..another dream come true! So 2015,  here's to my adventure, baking and creating to bring joy, inspiration and making many wonderful memories!  I will try to get more photos uploaded to share what I am working on, until then, keep creating!

They love it as much as I do! I have so many projects I have been doing but of course had problems with my iPad..however,I am making a promise to myself to try and be better about posting on my blog...I really do enjoy documenting the little things in my life, wether anyone reads them or not!  But for today I wanted to share the cards I will be teaching in this next weeks class...and look forward to seeing what I come up with for our january class! Happy thanksgiving to you!

Making seeded paper

Yes, making paper.....my Aunt Mary, who is a healer, by nature and profession...makes many wonderful products. Of these many items, she has formulated a facial oil, that I use every night with my face cream, and sometimes in with my morning cream...however right now, because I want it to last and I feel that I only need it once a day, I use it in the evening. It is so silky, and smooth, which brings me to my next product...glycerin soap...smells fantastic, silky smooth and leaves nothing behind, like most glycerin soaps I have tried.  I also, use a body oil...after I shower.....in the summertime I have a very hard time using lotion in the summer months, hence, oils.  I love her products! She is so talented....and has enough in demand that she is starting her passion into a business. Mary has asked me to make tags, tags that can be planted and grow wild flowers....so today I have made a 12x12 emerald/forest green seeded paper. In a few days I will then draw some leaves and cut them out. We will plant a few, and see what happens! Thanks for checking out my blog. XO

Here's one?..Oct card class

Hello and happy October! We are here already, and I love it! Here is a card for the upcoming class at the Fallbrook Women's center. One of five, I still can't figure how to post the photos that are here on my IPad....so this one made it, and it's one of my favorites..still love the mini roses and the paper feathers. It's finally cooled down in the evenings, I have just washed my afghans in celebration!  This month I have just two fall cards and 3 Christmas cards. Next month all five will be Christmas, and no class December. January's class will be valentines and back to everyday celebrations, for which we are grateful! I will post the other cards once I can..until then, hope the Halloween vibe finds you!

Garden to table!

One of my favorite things to do is going out into the garden everyday to see what can be picked!

We are not getting a lot this year for some reason, the weather is very hot, it could be our new soil, the fertilizer we choose to use, bugs??? I bought some Roma tomatoes when they were on sale this last week and canned my "base". Nani  and Teta did this every year, a mix of goodies from the garden, simmering it up, can it. We use it for the base for spaghetti sauce, however, I love to use it when I bake chicken, or  with pasta using olive oil, or a white sauce...great part is, it's ready to go at any time! I will be making and canning a haberno sauce possible today..gotta use them while they are fresh!

September card class

September is here already! I love our changing of the seasons....if you live here in Southern California, they are not big changes but enough!  I guess the only reason right now we know it's September, is because the Halloween candy is in the stores, in full display!  How many Halloween cards does one send out? Or thanksgiving cards?  This month I decided to just use the colors of the season for a few of the cards and some i am bringing other salutations, should someone like to change them to "everyday"  cards. Here are the samples for my Fallbrook Women's group, which is Tues, Sept 23rd at 10:30 a.m.. It seems even if you are not apart of the group, you can still take the class!

If you might like to join a wonderful group of women's, and make these 5 cards, please leave a comment, I will get back to you! Also, my sister is setting up her EBAY shop, which she will have some of my crafting..very exciting! Then she will be helping me step up my ETSY shop! Very exciting stuff..long time in the making, when you don't work well on the computer!

I hope your enjoying the beginning of our fall season, as I am, crafting , gardening, baking ( my first chicken pot pie from scratch is in the oven right now!) and as always, enjoying time with family! Until my next post, keep enjoying life, we only get one!
